My Role as a Birthkeeper and Doula

As a Birthkeeper and Doula, I nurture each mother - emotionally, physically, and spiritually - while guiding her in shaping a birth experience that is uniquely her own. I walk beside families as they clarify what matters most, supporting them to move through this profound transformation with confidence and calm. My intention is to ensure that every family feels deeply supported and fully informed, able to experience this sacred time with true agency, trust and joy.

I began attending births in the 1980s, and have been doing so professionally since 2002. I draw on this experience, as well as the wisdom gained from giving birth to my own seven children, to serve as a facilitator and steady presence for the birthing mothers I support. Much like a wedding concierge, I help coordinate the many elements of birth - both practical as well as intuitive and evidence-based guidance that supports not only the mother but also the neurological, emotional, and prenatal development of her baby.

I provide a minimum of ten hours of prenatal consultations as well as presence during your labor and birth if you choose. During our prenatal time together, we’ll begin active preparation for the 42-Day Postpartum Nest, brainstorm about creating an optimal birth environment, as well as diving into the Nirvanic Birth principles and techniques designed to support you in not only managing the intensity of labor and birth but also finding peace and power by being consciously immersed in the process. I also provide information and advocacy in medical settings and ensure that my clients feel more than adequately informed about their choices and their rights as individuals and parents. Each session - whether in person or online - is designed to empower families with clarity, calm, and confidence.

As you approach your due time, I maintain regular contact and remain on call to provide continuous support through labor, birth, and the early postpartum period - including lactation support that is based on techniques I’ve fine-tuned over the years with the many mothers I’ve assisted, as well as my own 25 years of personal breastfeeding experience.

It’s important to me to build relationships with my clients that lay a foundation for a continuum of care that honors the whole process in the best way possible.

I specialize in mother-and-infant Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, Infant Massage, herbalism for pregnancy, birth and postpartum healing, as well as compassionate breastfeeding guidance and support.

I serve those preparing for a hospital, birth center, home, or unassisted birth.

Once payment is received for this initial session, I’ll be in touch to arrange scheduling.

I accept Pennsylvania Medicaid Insurance. For those with a private insurance plan, I will assist you with a reimbursement request.
